The luxury of doing nothing

The luxury of doing nothing, from the moment the page opens.

01/ 03The beginning (challenge)

Why

Conveying every bit of a rare natural setting and the charm of the inn.

  1. 01

Conveying the stillness of mountain streams and old-growth forest

A timeless quiet, held by the mountain streams and old-growth forest of Kirishima. Guests needed to feel this rare natural setting before they ever arrived.

  2. 02

Portraying a stay embraced by nature

Rather than listing facilities, the site needed to convey a way of spending time itself: “the luxury of doing nothing.”

  3. 03

Letting guests imagine a day here

A morning open-air bath, an afternoon on the terrace, steam rising at dusk, the quiet of night. The appeal of each hour needed to be shown as one continuous flow.

How

Following the course of a day, so the mind gradually unwinds.

Our aim was a “first stay” that begins the moment the page opens: a design that carefully captures the light, the murmur of the river, the rising steam, and the passing of time.

01 Time

A day unfolding with the body's natural rhythm.

From morning light in a guest room with a private open-air bath to the stillness of night, the sequence follows the body's circadian rhythm, expressing a gradual sense of relaxation as the day unfolds.

A day unfolding with the body's natural rhythm.
02 Photography

Capturing even the light and the steam.

We handled the photo direction, assembling images that convey the light, the rising steam, and the presence of nature. Memories of the stay begin before guests even arrive.

Capturing even the light and the steam.

What

A “journey through time” that begins online, before the visit.
